Allie Hammond, R.N.
Allie will be volunteering in May as a registered nurse in our medical, surgical and dental mission trips to Aloquinsan, Cebu and Los Baños, Laguna. She is also helping the Organization raise funds to support the reconstruction of a community child care facility and to keep the doors of our adopted Rural Health Centers open to their indigent patients by providing medicines, supplies and equipment while they are undergoing repairs from damage sustained by recent natural calamities.

"I've known for a long time that I was supposed to be a nurse. My need to help others started at a young age. How many jobs challenge you both physically, mentally and emotionally, yet are equally as rewarding each day? I've spent time doing similar missions in Costa Rica and Nicaragua---triaging patients, providing education and lending a hand anywhere a hand is due. One of my leaders once told me something that's stuck with me for years. He said, 'You’re not just giving Acetaminophen for a headache, you’re giving hope. It's easy to lose sight of the reason you became a nurse with the daily chaos but these types of trips remind me of the basics. Do not withhold good from those whom it is due, when it is in your power to do so.' I'm so excited to expand my knowledge, skill set and go be small glimpse of light in these people's time of darkness." --- Allie, April 2018.
